20-year study shows that lung cancer screening boosts survival rates

Lung cancer is the primary cause of cancer death in the U.S.  And although treatments for advanced lung cancer have become more effective, the best way to reduce mortality is to catch the disease early through screening with low-dose CT (LDCT). A recent study found that annual screening with LDCT translates to a 20-year survival rate of 81%.
